PRACTICAL WISDOM

The Executive Leadership Program presents a transformational learning experience which provides leading edge strategies and practical processes for generating innovation and expanding our human potential.  Grounded in the 21st Century science of mind and consciousness, the modules of this seminar provide insights into how global change operates and why it is so difficult to change our selves and the organizations in which we live and work.

Using the latest affective science as well a principles of human learning, participants will gain an understanding of and skill in practicing mindfulness and wisdom from the perspectives of Western knowledge and eastern wisdom.  By applying global concepts and research from GWU's Center for the Study of Learning, MIT, and the Mind and Life Institute, the seminar dialogues and learning experiences focus on first- and second-person interactive learning experiences, as participants practice and develop the innovative skills of focused mental attention, self-awareness and self-transformation.

During this seminar you will learn:

  • How to apply the principles of mindfulness and global leadership.

  • How sense-making operates and how to choose actions.

  • How perception, memory, and knowledge often limit strategic action and self-transformation.

  • How to understand and practice symmetry breaking awareness.

  • How to operate with mindfulness and ethical know-how.

  • How global leadership operates and is generated as an organizational, not just an individual capacity.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This program benefits mid- to senior-level managers and executives who are charged with leading and creating value through vision and innovative thinking.  The design moves participants beyond knowledge to developing their own wisdom through actionable learning that can achieve sustainable results for participants and their organizations.
