"Edgar Schein, considered one of the top organizational consultants in the US, says it may be that the only really important thing leaders do is construct organizational cultures. These two areas--leadership and culture--provide the focus for my work. My research is centered on corporate cultures based on empowerment and how leaders transform organizational cultures to attain performance and organizational change goals."
Marshall Sashkin, Ph.D. (1970, University of Michigan)

Before joining The George Washington University, Dr. Sashkin held a special appointment as Senior Associate in the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Research and Improvement. Marshall is well published in the areas of leadership, performance management, and total quality management. He is the author of more than fifty articles and books and has designed over twenty-five questionnaire survey instruments. A few of the companies that Marshall has consulted for are Sara Lee Hosiery, American Express Company, General Electric Capital, U.S. Army, and the American Red Cross.
